Our residence has a mailing address that is different from the property's phyiscal address, does it matter what address is used for our refinacing per the settlement documents?

Contact your local Assessor's Office and/or Tax Collector and ask them what you need to do to make the correction in their records so that the mailing address is the same as the street address. This is not all that unusual an occurrence as you may think. The important thing is that you are paying taxes on the correct property. Being a real estate practitioner concentrating in the field of property tax appeals, I try to inform clients who become new owners of property, that they (or I) make certain that the taxbill sent to their home reflects the correct parcel index number as the legal description indicated in their instrument of conveyance (deed).
