Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Incorrect Ticket Mph zone

Recd a speedg ticket. Ticket lists 87 in a 55 mph zone. I didn't notice that the ticket listed 55 mph zone - this is the officer's error. I was WB on I-88 at the 105 mile marker which is a 65 mph zone. I was also traveling at 77mph w/my cruise control on, not 87. I didn't notice the 55 mph error until my mailed pymnt was sent back to me indicatg that I needed to appear in court because the charge is +31 over the limit. Was told by a lawyer friend to approach the states atty and get them to amend the tckt and reduce speed and evrythg would be ok. Got to court, kane cty states atty told me that they don't amend tckts and askd where i heard that and once i said my atty friend he sd he wouldn't talk to me, he also told me that the judge is the only one that can amend a ticket. Got in front of the judge who admitd that all the paper work was different but still publicly humiliated me by yelling at me; asked me where my atty was and completely ignored me when I said I would plead guilty if the tckt was corrected; he said that he doesn't amend tckts. I have never been to court b4 and didn't expect to be treatd that way. any way this judge can be fired?

Re: Incorrect Ticket Mph zone

Complaints in Illinois against judges are directed to the Judicial Inquiry Board, address in the telephone book.

I believe that your "attorney friend" probably practices in Cook County where they amend the complaint "on the face".

So, what is the status of this matter?? I'm in this courthouse about 2x a week. If you need help, call. Otherwise, GOOD LUCK!!
