Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I was issued a moving violation traffic ticket for driving my motorcycle along the shoulder during stopped traffic because it was starting to overheat and I didnt want it to stall. This was in Illinois where the bike is registered. I have 2 residences one in Illinois and one in TN. My current drivers license is from TN. The officer was yelling at me that I have 2 license numbers, one for IL and one for TN. I did not know this since obviously I had to surrender my IL license when I got the TN license. The officer wrote the ticket to my IL license number. I would like to either fight the ticket or at least take the supervision class to get the ticket off my record. What impact is it going to have on the process that the ticket was written on a license which isnt correct?

You could have been ticketed for having a second license but it's good you were not. The purpose of having the correct license is for insurance and tracking purposes. If you are a current TN resident, then the state's attorney will amend the complaint with the correct license number.
It sounds like you have a legitimate defense to being on the side of the road and could raise a valid argument, however I would hesitate to give you more definitive advice without knowing more details.
Feel free to call if you would like to discuss this matter further.
good luck
