Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
wrongful search
i was pulled over and arrested on 02/12/09 and was arrested for driving on suspended but didnt know they were suspended.can the police officer search my car and purse? because he did while i was in the back of the cop car and then stated he was arresting me for DUI/Drugs. can he do that? i was never given a field sobirity test or anything. please help.

Was there an unlawful search? The answer is that "it depends." A search and seizure analysis requires that attention be given to subtle details. I assume your case is already in court. If so, you should be asking these questions of your lawyer -- if you have one.
