Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

I just found out that I am co-trustee with my step sister. Do I have any recourse if anything has been done without my approval? There are a total of 3 trustee's. One for my father who is the lawyer(same lawyer who failed to tell me), and my step sister and me. My step sister and him had a 3 hour meeting about what it would take to be a trustee. During this time I believe papers were signed to sell a condo which a contract had already been signed by my father prior to his death with the amount. Also, a real estate agent was put under contract which I actually did NOT want this agent(I think our lawyer is getting a kickback from him...because he wanted to just give away my dads house), also a house contract was signed for the sale. I was asked if I agreed with the price as were all the beneficiaries but we felt we didn't have any choice at the time as they ruled the roost. Thoughts? I'm more annoyed then anything because I feel this lawyer knew I wouldn't be on board and that's why he didn't tell me till 8 days prior to closing.

As a named co-trustee you have rights and you also have obligations. It is possible that the terms of the trust allow a majority of trustees to make decisions. You should engage the services of an estate planning or trust attorney to thoroughly review the document and act on you behalf. It is important for you to understand what actions should be taken to protect yourself.
