Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

My mom passed last may of 2014 but at the time she made me power of attorney and drew up a will making me executor over everthing back in 2012, the problem I have is we never got the deed switched over to the house in my name due to her sudden passing of lung cancer and now I`m having a problem removing my brothers and other drug addicts they have staying there at the property when they know I was in the process of selling the home, theres not much I can due financially due to me being on disability, I really need help, I called the police to get them removed but they told me I have to take them to court.

The police told you correctly. Essentially, you are the landlord and they are the tenants. You would have to get them evicted legally.
