Legal Question in Administrative Law in India

Hi There,

I am an Indian resident, and my name is "xx yy zz" where xx is my surname. But in all my certificates including passport my name is mentioned as "yy zz" only i.e. i do not have my surname mentioned in all these certificates. And i will be getting married soon, and i want to have my full name (i.e. "xx yy zz") in the marriage certificate and in all other records. Please let me know, do i need to follow any legal procedures for this change of name? or is it ok if i start using my surname along with my old name just like that?

Respected Madam,

Get name change notified in Gazette and also one local newspaper English/ Vernacular.

After that Passport office has a specific procedure for change of name on marriage. ( PAN name can be changed) For Other records gazette is enough for name -change, no need to correct the names in other records like education etc.. if You are employed with Governent, again gazette will be enough.
