YES. Bank will not take anything as a Collateral security if the bank is not be able to attach at a later stage.

as per rule, for a business loan, agricultural land cannot be kept as collateral. it is surprising that how the bank did the same. is the borrower an agriculturist?

There is no prohibition of mortgaging agricultural land as collateral security for a loan for commercial purposes. However banks do not prefer such security. The reason is that such land cannot be sold under the SARFAESI Act. That is all
