Adoption

Respected sir,

Can a major Indian boy or girl be adopted by another family without the prior permission of his/her parents?

No person who belongs to Hindu religion and who has completed fifteen years of age is capable of been adopted, unless there is a custem or usage aplicable to the parties which permits persons who have completed fifteen years being taken in adoption.

Under section 10 of the Hindu Adoptions And Maintenance Act 1956,no person is capable of being adopted unless the following conditions are fulfilled;

1. he is a Hindu,

2.he or she is not already

been adopted,

3.he or she has not been married, unless there is a custem or usage applicable to the parties which permits persons who are married being taken in adoption,

4.he or she has not completed the age of fifteen years ,unless there is a custem or usage applicable to the parties which permits persons who have completed fifteen years being taken in adoption.
