Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

Sir, who is factual owner, patta holder or parent document holder ?

Still now the patta doc. for particular land is in the name of my Granma, but my Granma's cousin producing French doc.translated in Tamil which arguing that the above said land was owned by her mother. Because of this reason she is arguing that after her mother's death the land is belong to her. but there is no any direct evidence indicating that the land belongs to my Granma's cousin. But in the same time my Granma having the patta doc. in her name since 1988, and paying all taxes and bills in her name still now. My confusion is 1) suppose my Granma's cousin statment is true, then how the patta doc. is in the name of my Granma ? 2) Is the doc. produced by my Granmas cousin is a false one which is intentionally prepared by her ancestors ? is there any chance for this ? if so how can we prove this ?
