Dear Sir / Mam,

I have applied for a distance education program in an university and was totally ill - treated and i gave up the course.The problem arised when i discontinued the course as the payment was through post paid cheques and my father has given to stop the payment.The university personal are threatning me to pay the wholesome what ever comes to be the actual amount for 2 years.I have already paid 10000 Rs and also 3250 Rs every month as cheque amount from june.The actual amont was of Rs 52000.Please advice me as the Univ Personal are threatning me, sating that legal action will be taken against.

that must be some private university as recognised govt universities dont bother this much.

dont worry and if you want to continue with the course then only pay the amount otherwise u need not to pay a single panny.

tell them or infact send them a letter that u dont want to continue as they have irregular study pattern and they are not teaching properly and you have been misguided etc(better take legal help)

ask them to return your cheques . thats it.

Since cheque has already been given so they will serve you notice prior to filing of complaint u/s.138 NIAct and in reply to notice you can give your case and details of facts which you can prove in your evidence.It is advised to contact local lawyer and take his advise in the matter.
