Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
Leave and lease Licence Act in West Bengal
My first question is whether Leave and Lease Licence Act is applicable in Kolkata,West Bengal.
We have got a tenant just 4 months passed after signing the lease licence agreement. He has not paid any rent to us for past 2 months and the electricity bill is pending from March'07. Now he is not ready to pay the rent and putting pressure on us by saying that he wud be going to the Rent Control. Is it viable in court of law?
He has deposit of Rs 15000 with us and asking us to adjust with the rent but will not vacate our premise.
Please help and suggest.
