Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

Property related

I own a home. My brother has a gas connection in his name and he has got it connected in my home as a tenant of my home. It is not to my liking but for some reasons I can't help it. I am now being pressurized to get another gas connection in my name. My concern is that won't this validate my brother's tenancy at my home though he is NOT a tenant and lives with his wife and kids in another rented home. I am concerned that he along with my parents help wants to grab the property. I am separated and live with my kids in that home with my parents. Initially itself I wanted him to take back his connection to where he lives adn let me own a single connection in my place in my name, but my parents did not allow that saying that this is the way my brother can maintain a permanent residential address proof. I don't believe this since he has plenty of phone connections in his place to prove that. I intend to immigrate abroad next year, probably leaving my parents to stay in this home. I want to secure the ownership of my home to myslef and this is where I need help to know if I should or should not go for this new gas connection in my home while my brothers continues as a tenant. Please assist. Thanks

Re: Property related

Presuming he doesnot pay rent and you donot give receipt to him and as you say he & his family doesnot reside with you, he doesnot become your tenant.

Re: Property related

Merely by having gas connection does not constitute any right of any kind including tenancy right in favour of your brother. So donot worry.
