Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Hi

My father inherited property through will from my grandfather. We are 5 brothers. He has distributed some pf his property equally among us in the past. However, after receiving the property my other brothers started to misbehave with him and now don't even take care of him. My father lives with me now and I take care of him. He now wishes to dispose his remaining property solely in my name through will. Is it legally possible for him to write a will of his inherited property solely in one son's favour. Please suggest the best course of action if it is his desire to do so.

Ancestral property cannot be done. But you have not stated in what manner your father inherited the property. Explain the same for better opinion.

It is not ancestral property but self acquired property of your father, laws have changed as my ld. friend knows nothing about succession laws etc. Your father can will the remaining property in your favour but i feel he should gift you the same in his life time or else your brothers would certainly challenges the will after your fathers demise.

May be possible.

Please remember, Will of your father may be challenged by your brothers. Take steps with the help of an experienced lawyer in the field.
