Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

Can my father make a Will (as landlord of property acquired by my grandfather) ? My father has constructed an additional floor on the same building. Can he make a Will for this additional floor ? There is no co-op society.

Dear Sir / Madam,

Your father can certainly make a Will if the property is in his name. The additional floor is part of the property and your father will accordingly specify how the property is to be transferred - whether the entire property is to be transferred in the name of the sole beneficiary or whether it has to be partitioned and transferred in the name of the beneficiaries.
