By mistake became part of a lawsuit

By really a strange mistake my name has appeared in a lawsuit case over some property in the state of Indiana. I have never been to Indiana before and all the people mentioned in the document I have received from a lawyer's office handling the case are not known to me. I am defendant in the case.

What should I do to clear my name from this case?

Mistakes happen, but do not compound it by ignoring the legal papers with which you were served.
