Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

Drug/Property liability

I am a semi-proffesional musician practicing with a band in a nearby town. I store several thousand dollars worth of equipment at the location (not my own) where we practice. I have recently found out that the owner of the house may be selling marijuana. In Indiana the government can seize property if it is deemed a ''drug house'' would my equipment be subject to siezure?. If I am in this house during any illicit activities am I criminally ?culpable? I would like to remove my equipment as soon as possible if there is any danger of seizure. Thank you.

Re: Drug/Property liability

I think your concerns are well founded. Forfeiture of the instruments could be a possibility, particularly if there is no real way to identify ownership and that you or the rightful owners had no knowledge about the illegal activity. If it exists. Before an arrest and serach results, you might be better served by removing these items from that location. This is not to say that such a situation will exist, but based on the limited facts provided, the cautious route may be the better one.
