Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

My employer put a new policy into effect on April 1st, 2012 for drug tests and background checks to be done for everyone, pre-employment as well as the ones already employed. They then had a company show up on April 3rd to do the drug tests, is that legal to do it that quickly without notice?
