Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My mother is one of four siblings. My grandmother passed away a year ago and my grandfather had a will made making my aunt executor after he dies. He passed away a couple of days ago and my aunt, the executor, has began going through all of my grandparents things throwing away old bills and receipts without my mom and one of my uncles there. She is also claiming things that she said she bought that have been in my grandparents house for years, things which she has no receipts for. The will says everything is to be split four ways. Can an executor do all of these things? Thanks in advance!

There are basic rules that your aunt has to abide by as an executor. She can't just do what she wants. If you feel that she isn't doing right by the family, you should retain your own attorney to look into it for your mother and to protect her interests.
