Legal Question in Workers Comp in Indiana

I was at orientation yesterday and I tripped over a rock in the parking lot that was not part of the concrete. The Rock was red and looked to be part of the decorative landscaping that had been kicked or shifted into the parking lot. When I tripped I was in front of the orientation leader and 5 other new employees. I have a sprained ankle and could not go into work today because of the pain and swelling not allowing me to wear the required closed toe shoes or walk properly. I called in and let the employer know today, would this be covered by workman's comp or at least be an excused absence since it happened on company property?

You're probably not entitled to anything due to the short wait period between an injury and when workmen's comp. benefits are due. But you may get an excused absence if you ask for it nicely.
