Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

my husband has a brain injury but can still make his own choices and live the life he wants, his family will not stay out of our lives and they keep saying the have the right to tell him how to live and make his choices, my husband is his own guardian and has lived on his own until we were married last year, we have known each other all through are school years and been friends all our lives, is there anything we can do to make them stop interfering in our lives?
