Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

My husband is in prison I had to hire a guardian ad litem for him for our divorce the original trial was pushed off a year due to him still being in prison however he was released shortly after the trail date. He then had his parole revoked a few months later. My question is since we have our next trial date set for 2 months after his prison commitment date is over and he wont agree to anything do I still need to pay for a guardian ad litem because he will be out months before our trial and he can then hire his own and for know we do not need to correspond

I think this is a question for the attorney that is handling your dissolution. I do not, however, believe you should have had to pay for his GAL. I think that you should proceed. In addition your attorney can or should file a motion to have a GAL appointed to represent him while he is in prison, and that person can then withdraw if or when your husband gets released.
