Legal Question in Immigration Law in Iraq

I came to the U.S on b1/b2 visa .I got 6 months permision to stay first entry. After few months I married an American citizen and I applied for my Green Card before my visa expired .I want to make sure that I did all the wright steps to get my Green Card?
