Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

I have approx 60k in defaulted private student loans. My dad is the cosigner, but he recently had a rapid decline with Alzheimer's/dementia. Medicaid recently took over medical bills for my dad, and my parents can't sell any assets now due to Medicaid. Can the collectors still go after my parents house? The house is the only assets my Dad has worth enough to pay the debt. I do not have any assets of significant amount.
