Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

My fiance was arrested in August for aggravated robbery, attempted 1st degree murder, attempted capital murder (police officer not injured), among other charges. This is his first felony offense. The day before he committed the crime, he spent all our bill money at the casino. I didnt know this until he called me from jail two days later. They also raised his bond to $3 million while a convicted felon murdered someone and robbed them with a gun and has $250,000 bond in the same jail. My question is can his bipolar depression and gambling addiction help his case and if there was already a hearing to raise his bond (that was already $500,000), can his lawyer request it to be lowered?

His mental status is an issue that could be raised in defense. His attorney can request a reduction of the bond. Byt, there is far too little information to assess whether either would likely succeed.

Good luck
