Do I sue in small claims or hire a lawyer for my case? I hired a mechanic that can not seem to get the job done. job on a Case ag. tractor i took to him in oct,2009. told him i needed the tractor in march of 2010. nothing done yet. the estimated value of tractor 4000. plus i paid him 1000.in jan 2010 for parts. I really need this tractor for my hay work. can you help? do not know how much it would cost for a lawyer here in kansas. thank you , mickey

Your case appears that it could be resolved withint he small claims limits. However, you will be doing it pro se (without and attorney) so it is a littel like stiching up your own cut. It might work, but you may get and infection or carry a scar. if you present your facts clearly, you may get an Order for the mechaic to let you pick up yrou tractor. It is inlikely that you wil get yrou $1,000 back on your own, but it is possible.
