Of course you can tell him leave, and you aren't likely to be guilty of a crime or liable for civil damage He s (as long as you're not his GuFFilinga ppetition to evict Vcan be tthe sstick to push him out. Maybe you needa carrot to ardian or attorney-in-fact). If her doesn't leave, the issue will be if he has established your place as his residence. If he is a short term guest, you won't be liable for changing the locks or removing his belongings. But, if he has established himself, I. E. Getting mail there, or using the address on applications or governmental registrations, you will have to formally evict him.

There may be another route. Since her is your father, and he may feel entitled to overstay his welcome. He may need an incentive to leave. Filing a petition to evict him, may be the stick to push him out. You might consider a carrot to entice him out. Therefore, you might need help to find somewhere for him to go. You didn't indicate where in you are. If you're near Kansas City, you can email me to discuss the facts of your particular situation. If not, you should consult directly with a civil practice attorney in your area. If you act wrong, you could owe him civil penalties.

Good luck
