Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kansas

I was being sued for back rent and damages but was asked to settle before court date. I agreed on the proposed amount and now the agreement they want me to sign says I'm responsible for interest and court costs. I'm I legally obligated to pay these extra cots that were not part of the verbal agreement?

You are only responsible to pay the judgment, or the agreement amount. However, it seems that there may noproblem be an agreement. If the landlord is still pursuing the j dgment, you may seek to enforce the agreement. But, purely verbal agreements are tough to prove, where there is active litigation. They can he nearly impossible where the person wants ng to enforce the agreement has not tendered payment of the undisputed portion. You may need to hire counsel to represent you in this matter.

Good luck
