Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kansas

Possible Adverse possession action for my property that extends next to my neighbors home foundation. A porch with concrete floor was added to the property approximately 15 years ago that extends three feet from the foundation. 7 years ago I had a survey done that proved my owership. At that time I took the owner out and showed him the actual property line. Is there a statute of limitations in Kansas that would limit the time during the 15 years that the neighbor could file for Adverse Possession? I also have mowed the property up to their foundation for 7 years.

People often misconstrue adverse possession laws. Adverse Possession is most often the defense to a suit to eject someone or their property from land. The landowner seeks to have the court eject or evict the other party from the land. The respondent claims that through various acts over time they have adversely possessed the land, and now it is theirs. The time period you speak about works against you, not them. Either you give them formal permission to use the land or you have them ejected within a certain amount of time, or the land will become theirs.

Good luck
