Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kansas

my Sister has passed away and her house is now owned by 6 siblings, most of us want to sell the home, but 1 will not agree to sell the home, is there any way to compel the single person to agree to the others owners wishes? we -the siblings- all live in different states

There may be a few ways to resolve the conflict. A partition action would divide up the individual interests of the siblings. A value would be determined, and any owner wanting to 'kelp the property in the family' could buy the portions of those that want to sell. One sibling could buy the portion of several others, and then force a sale as majority owner. Those wishing to sell, could claim their portion of lost rent income from those unwilling to sell. Three are just a sample of the ways that things could be done. The facts of each case affect the options. You should probably consult directly with counsel to discover the best option for your particular situation.
