Legal Question in Workers Comp in Kansas

Mild carpral Tunnel Syndrome in both Hands

July 1996, I was diognoised with mild Carpral Tunnel in both hands, I was a Sheet metal mechanic

for about 14yrs. I was transfered to different department but had the same problem in time. I was again transferred to a salary position (July 97) and no longer protected by the union. Still I am having problems with my hands. I had to accept this position or be sent home on medical leave because I had reached my time limit with the alternative work program (6 months). I have been at my new job 4 months and now use a computer. I'm afraid if I raise the issue again I might be sent out on Medical leave for good. My company is in a hiring freeze and extremely limit transfers. They are not replacing people who leave for whatever reasons, attrition. I was never given a disability rating by the specialist who saw me

although he agreed it was Carpral Tunnel. Do I have Workmans Comp Case? Or is there something else I should be looking at?

Re: Mild carpral Tunnel Syndrome in both Hands

You may very well have a worker's compensation claim, but there are time limitations which may present problems. I would suggest you contact an attorney immediately to further discuss the specifics of your situation. I would be happy to discuss this matter with you at (913) 491-2855.
