Re: bankruptcy/mortgage

It sounds as if you are in a Chapter 7 (liquidation) bankruptcy but have fallen behind on your mortgage payments. Because of that, the mortgage holder has sought permission from the court to foreclose on your house.

There are two primary options: make a deal with the mortgage holder (usually by paying a lump sum of money to get you back on track) or consider converted to a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and paying the mortgage and the mortgage arrearage through the Chapter 13 process.

While you may have plenty of time, I suggest you move quickly because your situation will only get worse if you delay in consulting with your attorney about how best to proceed.
