Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kentucky

A summons from a credit card company

I only owe around a total of 6-7000.00 in credit debt. I just got a civil summons from a creditor law firm for Capital One. I don't know what to do. I have sent a local bankruptcy lawyer an email for an appointment. Can I get this summons stopped before the deadline? Is that possible by filing for backruptcy? Please help. Thank You

Re: A summons from a credit card company

A bankruptcy filing should take care of the problem (unless the credit card company claims you defrauded them). Keep your appointment and be prepared to help your bankrupty attorney file your case quickly by getting the information that the attorney needs in order to file as quickly as possible.
