Legal Question in DUI Law in Kentucky

accident injury

My husband and daughter were recently involved in an auto accident. They were passengers in the vehicle. The other driver of the car had no license or insurance and was drunk at the time and killed his passenger. My husband had injuries and had to be off of work for a week. Are they entitled to anything and if so who from? What is confusing me is they were the passenger of the other vehicle and I am not sure.
