Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

I'm asking this question for my mother. Her brother just had a stroke and is parlized on his left side now. He was released from the hospital to go home. But his wife is now wanting to put him in a home because she says she can't take care of him no more. He and my mom wants him to move in with her so my mom can care for him. But his wife is saying no that she wants him in the home. My mom wants to know if there is any way that her and her brother could have a say so in this matter.

If your mother's brother is able to rationally communicate his wishes, he has the authority to decide for himself where to live. If the stroke (or any pre-existing condition) has interfered with his ability to make rational decisions, guardianship through the local district court could be sought. If your mother is granted guardianship, she will make the decision on where her brother should live, in her brother's best interest.

Good luck with this difficult situation.
