Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

Seperation andHousing Conflict

My ex girlfriend and I bought a house together and have recently split up. The house has both of our names on it and know she thinks she can just take the house from me. We split up before and I continued to live in the house and pay the payments. Now that we split up again she wants to try and force me out, Can she do this and what should I do?

Re: Seperation andHousing Conflict

You are co-owners on a piece of property. She can no more force you out or take your interest in the property than you can do likewise to her. You need to sit down with an attorney and figure out who's keeping the house. Whoever keeps the house will have to refinance the property to remove the other person and pay off any equity that may have accrued in the property since date of purchase. Good luck.
