There are many things in my parents estate that are not wanted or needed by my siblings and I. What is an estate sale and what is the difference in doing that and just a plain yard sale?

An estate sale typically refers to when the debts owed by the deceased person exceed the value of the assets and the court authorizes the sale to apportion payment of the debts.

Sounds like you want a yard sale - but you can sure make it sound fancy and drive the prices up a bit.
