Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

liability for wrongful imprisonment

What is the liability for a person who was held in prison 548 days past the release date from prison? Allegation of wrongful imprisonment is automatically proven when a writ of habeas corpus has been issued by the court and release was granted. Is the government of the state liable and if so, by how much per day?

Re: liability for wrongful imprisonment

It seems open and shut from your description. However, there is no set penalty per day. Give me a call.
