scamed by a secret shopper employment

I recently got scamed by this employment oppurtunity.I received the letter and check,was told to call and activate the check before putting into my account.I did.It got deposited, i ent the next day and withdrew a large amount out.the bank teller told me to write a check off my accont to with draw.I did.Now the next day they called me to tell me the check,payroll check came back account not found.My question is why did the bank cash my check without having the payroll check cleared first?I assumed it had cleared.Yes this has been turned over to law officials,bbb. everyone i could turn it over to. The bank is threatening me with procesection.How much am i liable for?

Unfortunately you are responsible for the money they gave you and you spent. No different than a loan. I remain amazed at how many people fall for this stuff.
