How do I proceed in getting child support for my daughter? The father stopped paying child support in February due to the fact that I wouldn't allow him to claim our daughter on his taxes. She lives with me and only sleeps over at his place every other weekend. He refuses to pay anything until he "gets back" what he'd have received from claiming her.

Is there a child support order from the court? If so you can either hire a lawyer or take your order to the state child support enforcement office.

If you do not have an order, file to have it set by the court.

The court will determine who gets the deduction.
