Legal Question in Health Care Law in Louisiana

Hi,

My nine year old son was release form his neurologist on 08/18/2010 because his dad was not at any of his appointments. His treatment on 11/25/09 and ended on 08/18/2010. I explained to his doctor that my sons dad was not a part of his life. So I was informed that I had to find another doctor to treat my son. The doctor stated that he could be sued by my sons dad if anything should happen to my son while under his care. What should I do?

You should have a custody decree giving you sole custody. The appropriate judge will order that you alone have decision-making power over your son. This will prevent a physician from denying treatment for this reason.
