Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

Are event venues in Louisiana required to carry liability insurance. We are signing a contract for a wedding and their contract says that we are required to carry insurance and that they are not responsible for any personal accidents or injuries on their property?

Usually, the venue pays for that. While there is no law that I know of which requires them to do so, I know that it is standard for them to carry insurance. You may want to rethink doing business with this venue if they are trying to shift that cost to you. Nevertheless, if you want to get event insurance, it is not expensive. Your insurance agent can help you with it.
