As the surviving spouse, you should have been given usufruct over the home. If you have usufruct over the home, you get 100% of any rental income from the property and you get sole say over who can stay there. Your sons only have what is called "naked ownership" and can't exercise their rights to rent or sell the property until you die or remarry.
