Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana

I am extremely worried and stressed. About a year ago I received a ticket for speeding and expired drivers license. I don't live in the country and I was home for vacation so I contacted the office by email and told them my situation before the court date and fee due date. So I was sent an email with a link where I could pay my tickets. From my misunderstanding I thought that paying the ticket exempt me from court, however recently I looked up the ticket and my name just to make sure everything was paid for and it says there is a misdemeanor warrant out for my arrest fines at $0.00. I am extremely concerned I was completely shocked because I had no idea I did something wrong as it is very hard for me to take care of this and live 8 thousand miles away. I am worried I will have to hire an attorney or serve in jail. Please help I don't know what to do and I don't want to be a criminal what do I do? Going to court is almost not an option as I rarely have time to go to the United States.

That certainly seems odd. If you paid the fine online, the court date should have been cancelled. There was no reason to go to the arraignment if you had already pleaded guilty and paid online. You should be able to handle the matter without coming back here, but you will have to hire an attorney to go down there and figure out what is going on. You can email me, if you like and we'll try to figure it out.
