Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana

I was pulled over for going the wrong way down a one way. I was then taken into custody for suspected DWI and subsequently tried for reckless driving and driving without a license (mine is not suspended, it got stolen). I noticed that the one way street I pulled onto was completely unmarked. Do Louisiana traffic laws state that it has to be marked? And if it does, would my subsequent charges be dropped?

First, you need to get representation for that DWI! You should not represent yourself for that charge. It is a very serious charge. That being said, you may be right about the one way. If it wasn't marked at the place where you took the illegal turn, you may be not guilty of the charge. You COULD then have an argument that, since that charge was not valid, the police had no probable cause to stop you, which makes all the charges go away. That argument will take a lot of legal research and skill to argue and I STRONGLY suggest you get representation. However, you may have grounds to argue the case.
