Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My father passed away several years ago. My mother is currently a victim of a romance scam and refuses to stop giving strangers money. She is actually considering mortgaging her home which is mortgage free to give someone $90,000. Can I get a lawyer to get my dad's half of the house and his retirement accounts so that my brother and I can salvage something for her?

A lot will depend on whether or not your father left a will, and what kind of assets he owned.
