What does an LLC in Maryland do for my motorcycle club? Does it protect the members?

The club's LLC status protects the club, not the individual members per se. If, for example, the motorcycle club gets sued as a club, any damages awarded, if damages were to be awarded, would be limited to the assets in the club (the account holding the club dues, for example). If you, as a member of this motorcycle club, were to commit some tort (cause an accident, for example), the LLC status of the club would not protect you personally. So, to answer your question, the LLC protection of the club protects in some instances but not in others. You need to be more specific in your question. What type of protection are you looking for?
