Legal Question in DUI Law in Maryland

they lost me in the ''the system''.

I showed up for 6 months in row for 1year of probtion for a DWI . Everytime, they had no record of me, and passed me from P.O to P.O. with noone knowing why I was there with no record...now almost 3years later, I find I have a violation of probation with a warrant for my arrest. What will happen? Should I turn myself in? Is this my fault...I have done so well and remained sober and have a job and a home. What do I do?

You should contact a criminal law attorney, like myself, and let your lawyer turn you in. Many times the lawyer can make arrangements so that you are not arrested.

Yes, you should turn yourself in. You will get a court date for the alleged probation violation. You should consult with a criminal defense attorney regarding the charges and possible defenses.

I suspect that you did not or were not registered into the probation office. After trial it was your responsibility to ensure your enrollment.

You, however, did show up for probation even though you apparently were not enrolled. Your problem is more than proving that you showed up as you may not be credited with having done so.

This may be a clerical matter or it could be that you failed to enroll (which is an affirmative duty upon you.)

You should seek representation immediately as this could become an even larger problem. Being arrested through a warrant would be more than merely inconvenient.
