Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

cps and child custody

CPS-child protective services, took a now 12 year old child from his mothers home, and placed him with his aunt. He was not to return to the mothers home until she complied with certain factors of providing a safe environment for the child. His father, called cps and said he wanted a hearing because he wants custody of the child, and cps told him that the child could stay with the aunt. The aunt called us tonight, 7-6-05, and told us she was going to take him back to his mothers because she was tired of the child saying he didnt want to be there. what can we do??

Re: cps and child custody

My first question is what is your relation to the child? In general you can do nothing if you have no standing in this issue. I see nothing in the statement that indicates that the child should not have been placed with his father in the first place.
