Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My ex-husband is holding the child support money because I claimed my daughter on the taxes. She lives with me more than 50% of the time. He gets her 2 weekends a month. There is no formal child support order. He has agreed to make payments to keep from going to court. If there was a child support order, does he have the right to hold payments when I claim the taxes?

You should get a child support order. He does not have a right to withhold payments, but there is nothing the Court can do without an order in place.
